Pollution Prevention Award

Western Carolina created the Pollution Prevention Award (P2) to encourage the abatement of pollution through prevention. This recognition program encourages local industries to pursue innovative ways of preventing pollution. KS Gleitlager USA, Inc. was selected as the 2006 P2 award recipient. The Western Carolina selection committee chose Gleitlager, an engine components production company, for implementing a cost-effective procedure for reducing lead and metals discharge, as well as an overall reduction in water consumption. Congratulations to KS Gleitlager USA, Inc.
